Walcott: We will be champions
Arsenal's Theo Walcott has made a bold declaration: The Gunners will win this season's Barclays Premier League.
The pacy England forward has been sidelined with injury for the last five weeks but is in contention for a return to first team football on Saturday's home game against Blackburn.
Arsenal are currently five points behind league leaders Manchester United but have a game in hand, and with the Premier League reaching the business end of the season, Walcott has believes the Gunners have what it takes to come out on top this year.
"I think this year we've got that experience that any failues from the past won't happen again," Walcott was quoted as saying in The Sun.
"We need to win the Premier League."
Arsenal were earlier in the season on course for an unprecedented quadruple, having been challenging for silverware on four fronts.
However, a horror run of matches saw them eliminated lose in the Carling Cup final to Birmingham, before being knocked out of the UEFA Champions League and FA Cup by Barcelona and Unite respectively.
This now leaves Arsenal with the Premier League as their only chance of tasting silverware this season, but Walcott is adamant they will triumph come May.
"There is a confidence in the camp - and I believe we will be champions, I really do believe it."
"I'm very confident, you've got to be."
"If you're not confident, then there's something wrong completely."
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will be hopeful the return of Walcott will boost his side in their bid for their first piece of silverware since 2005, when they won the FA Cup.

Lets Gun down the rovers!
We got a big game coming up against Blackburn and we cant afford any slip ups.We have positive news as far as injuries are concerned as Netherlands coach Bert Van Marjwik said that Van Persie's fit and Arsene Wenger also included him in the squad.
From what i've heard Lehmans goalkeeping display for the reserves was horriffic so im pretty sure almunias gonna get a spot in goal.
In defence the absence of Djourou will mean that Squillacci will get a start along side Koscielny.
Theres been alot of buzz around Jack Wilsheres personal life going around but dont expect that to affect his performance as he should start.
Blckburn's performances have been far from impressive under new manager Steve Kean as they've suffered five straight defeats and are just 1 point above the drop zone.
What ever the case its amust win game and were gonna need 9 wins out of our final 9 games if we are to contend for the title.
